Make a Flawless Pulled Pork Recipe Tonight

Pulled pork is one of the many tasty ways to eat pork and BBQ. A culinary staple served as a main dish, over rice, in tacos and of course as a sandwich, pulled pork is an America tradition at cookouts, reunions and holidays from coast to coast.

One of the easiest ways to make a great pulled pork sandwich is by using canned pork, which also happens to be low in fat and preservative free. In a crock-pot mix the pork with ¾ cup of ketchup, ¼ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar.

For sweeter pulled pork, add more brown sugar to taste. For saltier pulled pork, ¼ teaspoon of vinegar can be added. In a frying pan, chop up half a large cooking onion and fry it with butter and salt. When the pieces are browned, add them to the crock-pot. Mix all ingredients together well and let simmer on low for 3-5 hours. Be sure to check on pulled pork once an hour for consistency and taste.

This recipe will make about six servings, depending on the size of the sandwich. Once the pulled pork is ready, a thick, sturdy bun is recommended for the least messy sandwich. Cole slaw is an optional favorite on top to your pulled pork, but that’s up to you.

Leftover pulled pork can be stored in Tupperware containers refrigerated and reheated in the microwave. Great recipes like this can also be executed using other types of canned meats like beef, turkey and chicken. Prep time for this recipe is only 10-15 minutes, and then the rest of the time is just patiently waiting for your delicious pulled pork to be ready to eat.
