All cans are embossed with a 5-character code on the bottom of the can. This is not an expiration date, it is the date of when the product was produced.
The documentation from our can manufacturer suggests that under proper storage conditions the expected shelf life of the product would be 5 years. We have personally enjoyed shelf lives much longer than that. The old rule of thumb is that as long as the integrity of the can is still good, the product inside the can is still good.
