Quick & Easy Beef Stroganoff

Beef stroganoff is a classic comfort food, that made from scratch can brighten up any bring old dinner routine. This classic Russian dish features beef and noodles paired with mushrooms and onions. Oh, and you can’t forget about the sour cream sauce that really ties the dish together.

 

In just 30 minutes you can put together this dish that will have family and friends raving and begging you to make it again. To get this meal started put two tablespoon of butter into a large skillet. Add in 2 cans of canned hamburger that has been chopped into small pieces. Brown the meat over medium heat adding salt and pepper to taste.

 

When the hamburger meat is ready, remove it form the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet add 1 tablespoon of butter, 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms and 1 cup of sliced onions, either white or yellow will work. Sauté the vegetables and add ½ teaspoon of salt. When the onions are translucent, add two tablespoons of flour right to the skillet.

 

Stir all ingredients that are in the skillet together until the flour has made a paste. Then, deglaze the skillet with ½ cup of dry sherry, white wine or chicken stock. In addition add 16 ounces of low sodium chicken stock and 1 cup of sour cream. Stir everything in the skillet together well until the sauce is uniform.

 

Okay three steps left! When the sauce is ready add the browned hamburger to it and stir everything together. Place cooked egg noodles in a bowl or on a plate and cover with the mixture. Last step? Enjoy your creation!
